GOcité wins ESRI Canada Award of Excellence

The GOcité inventory management package, which DMR is responsible for marketing, has won the ESRI Canada Award of Excellence. The Award of Excellence was presented to GOcité to recognize of the quality of the project and the positive impact that has not only for GOcité partners, but also for the entire Quebec geographical information system (GIS) user community.

"Formed as a result of an initiative between the Cities of Sherbrooke and Longueuil, GOcité can now draw on the expertise of six municipalities and DMR. By sharing their municipal geomatics knowledge, the cities have designed a robust, effective system that truly addresses their needs, while enabling them to realize considerable savings," explained Nicole Senay, Business Development Manager, Municipal Sector, at DMR.

GOcité is the first municipal inventory management package designed by and for cities. Since it provides the ability to centralize the data associated with infrastructures and land in a single location, GOcité greatly facilitates their analysis and processing. Once collected, the data are used for many applications such as the geospatial location of infrastructures, the display of spatial reference data in various repositories and the creation of synthetic or thematic maps.
