DMR in Malaysia

DMR and its Malaysian partner, Mutiara Teknologi, were chosen to develop phases 1 and 2 of a 911 call reception and dispatch project (MERS 999) for the Malaysian government corporation, Telekom Malaysia. The contract, worth $60 million and lasting two years, is under development and expected to end in November 2009.

DMR is helping develop and implement the integrated 911 system. DMR is providing project management, system architecture and technology consulting services to Mutiara Teknologi, which is responsible for implementing the computer aided dispatch (CAD) system. Two other Quebec businesses will be working on the project: EmergenSys Solutions, which will provide the CAD technology solution, and Novo Technologies, which specializes in call recording.

The work done by DMR is part of a larger project that involves setting up three regional emergency call centers (Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Kuching – with over 250 dispatchers) in constant communication with multi-agency emergency resources (police, fire, ambulance and civil defence) spread across 257 sites around the country (over 3,000 dispatchers).

This project, one of the largest public safety initiatives ever conducted in Southeast Asia, will allow DMR to stand out as a technology solution integrator on the international stage.
