DMR, still active in the defence sector 

DMR's expertise in the defence sector needs no introduction. We have achieved major wins in this sector, confirming at the same time that we are an active player in this market.

JIIMS maintenance

DRDC Valcartier awarded DMR a contract extending to 2012 to maintain the Joint Intelligence Information Management System (JIIMS). This maintenance includes software upgrades, along with hot line and on-site support.

Recall that the JIIMS document management system, developed by DMR, is used to centralize the storage of classified intelligence documents and enable them to be distributed and searched through the assignment of meta data.

A knowledge discovery and interpretation prototype

Working with DRDC Valcartier, DMR is taking part in a technological discovery project to assess open source products that will be considered when building the Kmapper prototype. We are also helping develop the conceptual service oriented architecture and the UML conceptual data model for the Kmapper.

A knowledge map (Kmapper) allows an organization to identify, view and locate its knowledge assets. On the Joint Command Decision System for the 21st Century (JCDS 21) project, the Kmapper will improve situational perception and understandability through the discovery of knowledge and the emergence of new knowledge mechanisms.

The Kmapper will ultimately give National Defence and the Canadian Forces standardized services for managing and representing sources of knowledge.
