A $10 million defence contract
Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) Valcartier engaged DMR to conduct the Joint Command Decision Support for the 21st Century (JCDS 21) project. This project, part of the DRDC Technology Demonstration Program, is one of the objectives of the Canadian Armed Forces' C4ISR1 Campaign Plan.
The goal of the highly strategic JCDS 21 project is to support the Canadian Armed Forces as they seek solutions to speed up the decision-making cycle (Decision Superiority). To accomplish this, DRDC will develop a collaborative environment to meet the needs generated by complex domestic operations, such as public safety operations, in a JIMP2 framework. Consequently, the environment developed will satisfy demands for situational analysis, intelligence, visualization and operations management and will support activities on the ground.
As integrator and prime, DMR will conduct the project jointly with its partners Lockheed Martin Canada, IBM Canada, CAE, Prolity, xwave and NSim Technology. They will help DRDC deliver the required solutions and set up an experimentation environment for testing concepts, strategies and emerging technologies.
This contract fits with the Canadian Armed Forces goal to acquire innovative technologies and means for tackling the increasingly complex challenges facing them. Signed last October, the contract has an initial term of 18 months and could be extended an additional two years. It is worth a total of $10 million.
